This is the kind of thing I almost never do, but these are unusual times we live in. And unusual times demand unusual measures.
Anyway ...
Tomorrow, I am scheduled to take a writing/editing test for a job opening as a web writer/editor. If I do well, I will be asked back for an interview. And if that goes well, the next step — hopefully — will be employment.
But I don't want to get ahead of myself.
With my education and experience, this is the kind of test I probably would have considered a virtual formality when I was younger. But if I've learned anything, it is not to take anything for granted.
I have a great deal of regard and appreciation for the folks who read my blogs regularly. You've encouraged me in the past, and I just want to ask you to keep me in your thoughts tomorrow at 1 p.m. (Central).
Have you ever seen the movie "Hook" by Steven Spielberg? It's a modern telling of the old "Peter Pan" tale. In the movie, the way the boys in Neverland achieved the things they wanted to achieve was by "thinking happy thoughts."
And that's all I ask of you, my readers. Think happy thoughts for me tomorrow!

I wish you great success!
Thanks, Del.
It wasn't a modern retelling.
It was a very bad "what if?" game sequel that contradicted the original story in order to do it.
