In the Mood for Some Good News?

An article at Reason.com, by Radley Balko, caught my eye.

It promised "The Good News From a Bad Year."

Like most Americans these days, I'm ready for some good news. Any good news.

Here's what Balko was referring to. You can decide for yourself if it's worth reading his rather restricted elaborations.
  1. Crime rates are still falling.

  2. Sex crimes are down, too.

  3. Life expectancy is up.

  4. We're beating our biggest killers.

  5. The kids are all right.

  6. We have more leisure time.
At a time when millions of Americans are losing their jobs and millions of Americans are losing their homes, it might not seem like the kind of news that's so desperately needed.

But there is something to be said for counting your blessings.
