You Know It's Getting Closer ...

... to football season when the first Top 25 college football polls are being posted.

The first coaches' poll of the 2008 campaign has been posted.

And the first Top 5 of the season are ...
  1. Georgia

  2. Southern Cal

  3. Ohio State

  4. Oklahoma

  5. Florida
By the way, it's my understanding that Ohio State and USC are supposed to play each other on Sept. 13.

Love me some college football! Georgia has a brutal schedule and doesn't play at home in Athens after Oct. 18, I believe (they are "home" against Fla in Jacksonville, and "home" against Ga Tech in the Dome in Atlanta). Additionally, if they win it, they will have to defeat 7 teams lead by coaches that have one Div. 1 or II national championships.
