Sen. Edward Kennedy emerged from his brain surgery yesterday in good spirits. Reports were that he even joked with his wife afterward.
"I feel like a million bucks," the Boston Herald quotes the senator as saying to his wife. "I think I will do that again tomorrow.”
It's a busy time -- medically -- for the chamber Kennedy has served for more than four decades.
Kennedy's 90-year-old Senate colleague, Robert Byrd of West Virginia, apparently is back in the hospital.
Byrd was experiencing "lethargy and sluggishness," according to the Associated Press. It's the third time in as many months that Byrd has been hospitalized.
